Overview

Stillness Timer (“we”, “our”, or “the site”) is a free online meditation timer. We do not require accounts or process payments. Timer preferences stay on your device, while third-party advertising and measurement services may process technical browsing information.

This policy describes browser storage and the third-party services loaded by the site.

No accounts or uploaded meditation preferences

You can use the timer without signing up or providing a name, email address, phone number, or payment details. We do not operate a user database for this product and we do not build advertising or marketing profiles from your meditation sessions.

Meditation preferences remain in your browser. Advertising and measurement services may receive technical browsing information; this information is separate from your timer settings.

Information stored only on your device

To remember your choices between visits, the site may save preferences in your browser’s local storage. These may include meditation duration, preparation delay, bell selection, interval-bell settings, volume, and light/dark theme.

This data stays on your device. It is not uploaded to our servers as part of the timer’s normal operation. Clearing your browser storage or site data will reset the timer to its defaults.

Cookies and similar technologies

Stillness Timer loads Google AdSense for advertising and Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tags. These services may use cookies or similar technologies and receive technical information such as your IP address, device details, and page visits. The exact measurement tags depend on our Tag Manager configuration. Theme preference may be stored via the browser (for example local storage) so your light or dark mode choice can persist.

If the hosting environment or content delivery network logs standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, or timestamps) for security and reliability, that is handled by the host’s infrastructure and is not used by us to identify individual meditators or personalize ads.

Third-party services

The site may load fonts or other static assets from third-party content networks so pages can display correctly. Those providers may receive standard technical request information when your browser fetches those assets. We do not send them your meditation preferences or session history.

Bell sounds are generated in the browser with the Web Audio API and are not streamed from an external media library.

Children’s privacy

Stillness Timer is a general-audience wellbeing tool. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not require accounts or personal data, there is no child-specific registration flow.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
